Step 1
In a small bowl, stir together the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, cumin, and hot paprika to make the seasoning mix. Pat the chicken legs dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle over most of the seasoning mix, reserving 1–2 teaspoons for the sauce. Add half of the chopped Thai chili pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated.
